Combination Boiler

Combination Boiler V’s Gravity Fed System

If you are having a loft conversion and you have a gravity fed system then the cold water storage tanks in the loft will need to be removed or re-located (to fit a combination boiler).  The immersion heater is usually located on the 1st floor and is often positioned in the same place as the new staircase. If so, then it will also need to be removed or re-located.  A negative head pump will need to be installed alongside the immersion heater to pump the hot water up into your new bathroom.

The cost for this work can be offset and put towards a new combination boiler. A combination boiler is a high-efficiency water heater and a central heating boiler, combined within one compact unit. Therefore, no separate hot water cylinder is required, offering space saving within the property. This will allow the removal of the water tanks in the loft and the immersion heater in the airing cupboard. An ingenious space-saving idea, and a popular choice with all our loft conversion designs.

Further Benefits of a Combination Boiler

Further benefits of a combination boiler includes hot water being delivered through your taps or shower at mains pressure. So you can enjoy powerful showering without the need for a pump.

Continuous hot water on demand.

More home owners now have insurance payment plans on the existing boiler.  We can install all makes and models of boilers.  However, we feel that the Vaillant EcoTec Plus boilers offer the best in value for money.  They come with a manufacturers 7 year all parts and labour warranty.  Giving the same cover as an insurance plan, this allows the policy holder to cancel their existing payment plan and make a saving.  Vaillant also offer an extension on cover after the 7 year warrantee has expired.

All domestic boiler installations in the UK must be carried out by an Engineer who is registered with a competent person’s scheme and must be on the Gas Safe Register.  The Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in 2009.  All our combination boilers are installed by our Gas Safe Registered Engineer, giving you total peace of mind that your boiler has been installed correctly and meets all the regulations
